What and Why Not To Believe

A while back my brother and I travelled south to Florida for a week
To visit an old friend.
The 3 of us toured, and talked and laughed a lot.
One of our many conversations dealt with the topic of beliefs and how they shape our world.

Or at least how we view our world.
We also talked about “fake news” which seems to be quite a sensitive topic down in the United States.
As soon as I returned home I checked out a quote I had read.
It was in the notes from the Absolute Abundance course I had taken earlier this year.
Here it is:

“Do not believe anything simply because you have heard it.
Do not believe anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe anything simply because it is found in your religious books.
Do not believe anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for generations
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”
Buddha

Wow.
He and so many other great masters/avatars of the past were so far ahead of their time, weren’t they?
As the late great Dr. Wayne Dyer said “You’ll see it when you believe it.”
So, change your beliefs, and you will change your life.
By changing your beliefs you will change what you think, say, and do.

And you will change your results.
It’s worked for me.
Let it work for you.
Find the answers inside of you.
Namaste.

Your Very Best Quote of the Week -Vol.4

Each Saturday I share with you a really good quote. Now, the weekly quote may be one that I enjoy the most or perhaps one that is quite controversial, or unusual, or thought-provoking.

You may agree with it. Or not.
Either way, please let me know what you think.

“Successful people maintain a positive focus in life no matter what is going on around them. They stay focused on their past successes rather than their past failures, and on the next action steps they need to take to get them closer to the fulfillment of their goals rather than all the other distractions that life presents to them”.
Jack Canfield

“Our job as humans is to hold on to the thoughts of what we want, make it absolutely clear in our minds what we want, and from that we start to invoke one of the greatest laws in the Universe, and that’s the law of attraction.
You become what you think about most, but you also attract what you think about most.”
John Assaraf [NeuroGym]

March 9,2019
“Stop Feeling Sorry for Yourself! It’s not going to help the situation. It’ll only help you to wallow in a state of apathy, playing the victim. The kind of person that things happen to, but that can’t do anything about it. By stopping feeling sorry for yourself, you can actually get on and DO something about it. If you want to be happy – stop feeling sorry for yourself.”
Karl Moore

March 2,2019
“Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?”
Mary Morrissey

“I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can’t see from the center.”
Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

Feb. 16, 2019
“When we accept ourselves as we are, we aren’t “settling” or “keeping the problem in place.” We’re showing love and compassion for ourselves-for our feelings, our situation, and our history.”
Nick Ortner -The Tapping Solution

Feb. 9, 2019
“One of the conditions of enlightenment has always been a willingness to let go of what we thought we knew in order to appreciate truths we had never dreamed of.”
Karen Armstrong

“The only thing standing between you and the life you want is a bit of knowledge, a pinch of effort, adopting some habits, changing some thought patterns, taking some action, and an ounce of discipline.”
Natalie Ledwell

Jan. 26, 2019
“..our habitual patterns- of thought, speech, and mind- isolate us from our true nature. Habitual patterns lead to emotional twists and turns, which filter our experiences and separate us from our understanding, caring, and loving others.”
Martin Hakubai Mosko

Jan. 19, 2019
“.. whatever you focus on, you will experience.
So, when you talk about “what is” or “what was,” even if you’re just explaining to a friendly ear, you project more of the same into the future.
If you ask more than you give thanks, you’ll believe less in your own power.
And if you insist that it’s hard and that you’re lonely, you’ll find that it is and you are.
Or, you can choose to focus on what you like, what you love, and how very photogenic you are…”
The Universe [Mike Dooley]

“The beautiful thing about the spiritual evolutionary process is that it takes place right on the altar of you own being – just you and your higher self, communing as one. In that sacred union, you enter a profound state of contentment, clarity and receptivity.”
Michael Bernard Beckwith

Jan. 5, 2019
“Gratitude can transform any situation. It alters your vibration, moving you from negative energy to positive. It’s the quickest, easiest, most powerful way to effect change in your life – this I know is true.”
Oprah Winfrey

Dec. 29, 2018
“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.
Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.
Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it.
Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”
Neil Gaiman

Dec. 22, 2018
“My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?”
Bob Hope

Dec. 15, 2018
“The eye with which I see God is the same eye with which God sees me; God’s eye and my eye are one eye, one seeing, one knowing, one love.”
Meister Eckhart
